For recreational scuba divers, emergency oxygen (O2) is the primary first aid given to individuals suffering from a near drowning or decompression illness. Having emergency O2 available at dive locations is especially important to divers suffering from these maladies and has become a standard practice for divers. Along with the availability of oxygen at dive sites, first responders must know how to provide oxygen in an emergency. This course is highly recommended if you are taking the Rescue Diver Course.

“Challenging and rewarding” best describes Underwater Dive Center’s PADI Rescue Diver course. This course expands your knowledge and experience level. Rescue Divers learn to look beyond themselves and consider the safety and well being of other divers. Although this course is challenging, it is a rewarding way to build your confidence. Rescue Diver training prepares you to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies.
We offer two types of Rescue Diver programs. Our winter program which consists of an orientation and three lecture sessions are held during the cold winter months with the one day scenario dives done when the weather warms up. The second program is the Fall program, which consists of the lectures, in-water  and scenario sessions being done over the course of one weekend. Both programs will teach you how to anticipate, prevent and manage potential dive accidents. From assisting a tired diver to handling emergency scenarios, you will practice applying the knowledge and skills that can make the difference in the unlikely event problems do arise. Which ever program you decide this course will boost your confidence level and make the subject of accident prevention and management not only fun, but extremely rewarding. Many divers say this is the most valuable course they have ever taken.
